ELLO

Cringe is the one and only word for my blog. I'm sorry to all of those who have read it, I sincerely apologise lol. Well no clue who I was/ am writing to as the majority of them views are mine. I'm not too keen on the subjects I used to write about, they are way too cliché...currently cringing about what I'm writing now tbh. Well I love the idea of like 'Things that made me smile this week' So I will be doing those from time to time, and I'm going to use this blog as a memory capturer (?)

10 things that made me smile this week

Monday 25th April- Sunday 1st May.

1)The feeling of accomplishment after finishing a really, very hard biology test, (sitting next to Lourdes) Lets hope I get a good grade!

2)26th April- My birthday. It had me smiling ALL day, due to all the birthday wishes, amazing gifts from amazing friends and family,a coca cola maom from my brother, cake (haha), a lot of birthday song singing and a really good day in general, thank you all! I'm 14.

3)The fun of playing capture the flag in p.e, literally made me feel like I was in the hunger games, competition in my class is crazy!

4)The humiliation of standing in front of the class with three other people singing a hymn we created (yes it made me smile...and laugh) We are (I am) a pathetic singer, and our hymn has no rhythm no nothing, basically pathetic too, so when you have to do something like sing in front of a class 1) you turn red, 2) realise how judgemental everyone is in the class, 3) smile and wave, 4) laugh, just laugh. Congratulations to http://ellagram.blogspot.co.uk for saying the word snake, and to http://lldouble.blogspot.co.uk for managing to sing ( ;) ) without looking at the words.

5) The joy of receiving a head teacher pen, lol, because my planner is actually splendid (and missing over twenty minuits of maths with it.).

6)Food, it always makes me happy, kinder schoko bons, milka oreo chocolate, and amazing wraps, food be the highlight of every week.

7)Getting along with my brother, doesn't happen often but when it does, it's like we are best friends, we laugh at anything and it's weird but it makes me smile.

8)Being able to come home and just stay on my laptop, just watch youtube, especially on a Sunday evening when pretty much everyone uploads, being cozy like yas.

9)Uploading my Greece video, and getting so much positive feedback from it! Also hitting that 37 subscribers from 29 over night like BOOM, so happy. Thank you.

10) last but not least, bank holiday Monday, 3 day weekends are the bomb.

Yes I am back! There has not been a blog post for a very, very long time, as I have been concentrating more on my youtube ( Ally Maria ) eyyyyy, anyway last week was a good week, and posts like this will probably become a very regular thing. Thank you all, happy May,

2016 New years resolutions

Hey! I hope your having a great 2016 so far! I only got to writing this post now but I wanted to write (type) about my new years resolutions. I never usually made them, they would be something like "be kind" and resolutions like this I found pointless and I preferred to this year make more than one resolution, make them achievable and more precise! I also made a video on my youtube channel on my new years resolutions so if you want to watch that there  will be a link at the bottom of this post, hope you enjoy!

The main reason I wanted to make resolutions this year, was because I wanted something to be proud of when the year ends, something to look back on and think, yes I did that! The other reason is because one of the things I received for Christmas was the 'Sprinkle Of Glitter Diary 2016' So Louise Pentland's calendar, however it's much more than just a calendar, I spoke more about it in my video!
Here are my resolutions (can I say the word "resolutions" again?! haha.).

1)To do more yoga.
I love yoga! I find it so calming, relaxing, and generally amazing, however last year I found that I didn't have enough patience to do it! I discovered the channel 'yogawithadrienne' on youtube last year, and I tried out some of her videos, however I couldn't zone myself out and complete just one video! Adrienne however, as if she could sense that I wanted to do more yoga, throughout January she created a "30 days of yoga challenge" where she uploads a video every day, of a yoga session for 30 days throughout January, I've started, I actually started quite late on the 3rd so I had a few videos to catch up on, but now I'm all caught up and enjoying it so much; so it's never to late to start! Before I was so lazy and couldn't get of my laptop, and I didn't have enough patience for just a twenty minute video, as mentioned before, but now I can complete a whole hour of yoga, or half an hour or twenty minutes, Adrienne uploads videos of a variety of minutes and no matter at what level you are at, the video will always be up your path.I find myself looking forward to a new video every day!I know yoga is something I want to carry on for a very long time! It was a good start for this resolution!

2) To drink more water and herbal tea.
I love herbal tea, but sometimes I just forget to drink it,it is very beneficial, and I just want to drink it a lot more often. Water I also forget to drink, I find myself sometimes going without water for most of the day which is really bad! It is important to stay hydrated, and drink two litres of water a day, I'm of to a shaky start at this one, but I'm picking up.

3)To push myself to do more things out of my comfort zone, aka say yes to more things (good).
I find that sometimes I don't believe in myself as much as I should and I put down opportunities that inside I know I really would like to do,I want to make 2016 a year which I say yes more.

4)Get myself more involved in drama productions/ acting opportunities.
Last year I got myself involved in our school performance of Macbeth, it was also put out as a public performance in our cities main theatre, I played Ross, and I had quite a lot of lines, it wasn't necessarily a big part compared to Macbeth, but for me it was the biggest part I have ever played! I love drama so much, and this year I want to take part in many more productions, and I actually would like to audition for something outside of school as well.

5)Last but not least; Make my youtube "tip top", however I talked about that on my actual youtube channel, here I want the resolution to be, make my blog "tip top" as I want to post regularly, every week, with fresh, interesting content for you readers!

Thank-you for reading my new years resolutions! Let me know yours down below! Link to 2016 resolutions video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RYGJa0eqSw

Hope you have the best 2016! See you next week!

Festive shots

Christmas eve is tomorrow! How crazy is that?! I remember opening my first window in my advent calendar, or before that, at the end of October being extremely excited for Christmas; and all of a sudden boom it's here! So it is the holidays and school is over for two weeks, which makes me smile! For todays post I wanted to take some "festive shots" of some festive things in my house, so basically some quick Christmassy photos. I hope you enjoy scrolling down the photos (there aren't that many, but you know) and I want to wish you the most merry Christmas ever, I hope you all spend it with your loved ones, and have an amazing time, all the best- Alicja x
I love receiving Christmas cards, and even more I love giving them, they are so pretty and putting them up on my chest of draws added sparkle, and festivity to my bedroom!

My cadbury advent calendar.

It's the 24th tomorrow, Christmas eve!!!

Remember in primary school, you used to make 'stain glass windows' basically out of paper and a different type of paint, well not gonna lie mine were amazing, not quite sure where they went though, but my brother made this one last week, and I like it.
Because calling santa is essential at Christmas! This app 'Santa Claus' (can find in the app store) you can put in some brief details about your child, or a young one, don't worry the details are just, girl or boy, age, and the reason for calling etc, and then you can schedule the call from Santa, Santa will call, and trust me it is actually believable, if only my brother still believed in Santa...

Christmas movies! All time faves are The polar express, and Elf!

Obviously Christmas tunes playing on the iPad 24/7.

These two lip glosses are my favourite in winter, barry M was limited addition so probably isn't in any store now,a nd the other one is Rimmel London Vinyl gloss, a lovely darker shade.

Old Christmassy photos. lol.

Cute picture from a book hehe.

Candles are so nice! Especially in winter! This vanilla one is gorgeous.

"Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock"

How cuteeee.

Our Christmas tree.

Gingerbread biscuits! I love them! They are running out though.

Cute lantern, that you put a tea-light in.

And more Christmasss cardsssssss.

Tests & Exams

Hey! Quite a different post today. Recently I have been having many tests, and all the revision had gotten a little bit too much, I didn't really know how I was going to do all of it, and I was very generally worried about the tests themselves. They were not really too important (I don't think) they were really to get my year (like my class etc of this year) ready for the end of year exams, and these tests we did now would be put forward to 'assessment B' which is a grade for each subject that gets sent home, and is fairly important. I did say that I have been having "many" tests, but compared to what others get in lets say year 10, year in the U.K , it wasn't really a lot, just more than my friends and I were used to. Tests always take place before something exciting like GCSE'S (thank God they are not happening this year for me), are taken before the summer holidays, and the tests I did were taken before Christmas! Perfect for ruining the festivity, as briefly mentioned in last weeks post. I took a few more tests than I'm going to mention in this blog post; as the ones I am going to mention, I think I can give a few tips on how I revise for them.

So I am going to be talking about three tests, French, science, and Maths. Starting with the one I was least nervous about.

1) SCIENCE.
Science has obviously got three parts to it, Biology- my favourite, chemistry, and physics- my worst nightmares.
So the test I just had was on chemistry, we have been doing chemistry in class, so my first tip is to listen in class, however boring it may sound, I mean you should do it anyway, but just listen, and if you do not understand anything then ask, answers won't always necessarily reach you on their own. In class you will have obviously have written work in your class books, before the test try to take as many notes down as possible as well as doing the class work set, as then when you take your book home you will have all these revision notes that will be a huge help!
If this is not a help and you would rather have a textbook with everything written in it for you, and one that explains everything easily, includes facts etc, then I would choose the GGP Science study guide, there are many versions of these, the one I have is for KS3 as that is what I am now but there is also a GCSE one. These are surprisingly quite fun to read, they contain many information and facts too, everything inside is colourful, and very easy to understand. You can find this in shops such as WHSmith, I got mine for £5.00.
Snazzy periodic table. :0

Another option are so called "summary" sheets which my science teacher gives the whole class a week before the test, on the summary sheets there is most of everything we have been learning in class, and the bases of what we need to know for the test, these for me are really helpful, you can always ask your teacher for some sheets or you can find them online and print them of yourself. I honestly for science, revise the night before and I do fine, however you might want to start revising two-three nights before, unless your really struggling with the topic.

2) FRENCH
I'm not a big fan of french , I have had a french reading test and a french writing test, I'm going to quickly tell you how I revised for the reading one first. I found the reading one okay...The main topic flowing though the test was fitness, food, and exercise. So I revised on mostly french vocabulary , such as body parts, and food in french, Cognates are always the main help in french tests but it's always good to know as much vocabulary as possible! A part of the reading test was to translate a paragraph from french into english, I had a shaky start but gradually I got better and i'm proud of what I managed to translate, can't wait to find out the results, but I'm still scared. So all I can for french reading is to take little quizzes online to get vocabulary stuck in your head, and during the test look out for cognates. For the writing test however I had to memorise a paragraph in french that I had written and then write it from memory in the test, OMG I literally thought I actually could not do it, I tried everything, make a song out of it, write it out several times until I remembered it but nothing, and I mean nothing worked, but then I had an idea, probably the best idea ever (lol) and it was to split the paragraph into ten parts, and then make ten cards, on each card write a part of the paragraph and learn one card at a time, gradually adding a card until I learnt the whole thing! And I did, I learnt it all! I can still recite it now, and I was so happy and I'm still happy that I remembered it all as it was quite a large paragraph! So if you ever need to memorise something in another language use that method, it works!
3)MATHS

In my opinion maths tests are the worst! The one I just had I don't think turned out too well, I missed quite a few questions due to time, and didn't understand a few either. I'm not the best at maths, it's probably one of the worst subjects ever, but my tip is to look through your class work thoroughly, and try to practice some questions as well. But this can also be a waste of time, you could be practicing questions you already know, so the best thing to do is to go on a website for example bitesize, here is a link to KS3 bitesize: http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/subjects/zqhs34j
There is more than just maths, there is also science etc, so it's very helpful. Here you can choose the topic you want to revise on for e.g. percentages, and it will give you, a revision thing, an activity or video, and a small test, this is realllllyyyyy helpful and I love it!

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope it gave you some tips for revision! I think the only test I have got next week is an english essay, but I'm okay with that. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK FOR A MORE FESTIVE POST! BYE X X X

Christmas movies

Hey! So we all know that December is now here! Which should get me really really really excited for Christmas, however I say with shame it has NOT gotten me into the Xmas spirit...yet.
I have got quite a few tests to do before the Christmas break :(, I have got a maths test, two french tests, a science test, and most likely an english essay, and other tests I've forgotten about or not yet found out about. So hooray me. Sorry for making you realise that you may also have tests and sorry for getting you out of your christmas mood, if you were in one already. I'm rambling now, and why I'm writing this post is to share Christmas movies that I loveeeeeeeee, and that I am gong to share with you. Lets begin, in no particular order!
1) Elf! If you haven't already watched Elf then why?! It is hilarious and a must watch around this time of year.

2)Home alone, these are classssiiiiiccccssss.
3)The grinch! Again a classic, I love the grinch oh my!

4)The holiday. In my opinion the holiday, isn't that much of a christmas film, but I do love it and it defiantly has a bit of festivity in it.
5)The polar express. Defiantly one of my faves, just thinking about it makes me want to watch it now!
6)  A christmas carol...however I have never watched it...WHAT?! yep! I have seen a little bit of the muppets christmas carol, but i personally don't like the muppets, I want to see the original, but your gonna laugh...I have watched the barbies version of a christmas carol, and i loved it, yep.
7) Arthur christmas! This was a favourite last year!
8)The snowman! I love the snowman, it is sad though haha. "we're walking through the airs"
I have many more I have not included, but I guess these are the main ones. Sorry for the late blog post, as I didn't write one last week, but yeah...I will see you next time! x x x
