Summer drink: iced tea.

Hey guys! Summer is unfortunately coming to an end, but I have a summer treat to make it last that little bit longer! Enjoy...

So the thing I made was ice tea! I love ice tea in the summer, it's the perfect refreshing drink for the heat, so I decided to make it at home, it is really simple to make so I hope you can give it a try:
There are actually two ways of making my ice tea, the first way is to use a fruit syrup to flavour, like I did, but if you do not have fruit syrup, a good idea also would be using flavoured tea in bags, for example raspberry tea, which you can find in your local supermarket. So when you see me using black tea and syrup, just use your fruit tea.

1) First you will need to boil your water, as we are making tea, (which will be "ice tea" later)

2) Next you will need to get your tea bag, I here was using black tea.

3)Let your tea stand for a while, the time is also depending on how strong you want it to be, I don't like mine to strong, even though it looks extremely strong on the photo.

4)When your tea looks ready to you, take the tea bag out, and pour the syrup in (which means you won't have to add any sugar, because the syrup is already really sweet.)I was using raspberry syrup.
5)Once you have poured your syrup in, mix the tea with a teaspoon, and then leave it to cool down, until it's not so hot, but warm. Then when it is warm pour it into a glass, like I did, because who drinks ice tea from a mug?! But only when it has cooled down, because it could ruin the glass. After that when it is in the glass leave it until it is a room temperature drink, you can also get your ice ready at this point if you haven't already.
6)Once your tea is room temperature, put it into the fridge, I would leave it in there for about 20 mins.

Featuring Oreo chocolate haha.

7)Whilst your tea is in the fridge, you can get started on your lemon! You will need to slice the lemon in half, juice one half of the lemon, and then cut one thin slice of the other half for decoration.

For decoration I made a slit halfway through the lemon slice and then put it on the edge of the glass.
8)Later on you can take the tea out of the fridge and take the ice out the freezer and pop the ice in the drink, my heart shaped ice failed :0 Add fun straws and enjoy your drink.

Thank you for reading my blog post, it was the last summer post I will be making this year, as summer is coming to an end, no more summer bucket listing! I hope you will try out my ice tea! If you do be sure to post a photo of it on instagram and tag me in it, instagram is ally.co.uk but it is also linked on the right side. Enjoy your ice teas, see you next time! :)

My ice tea actually reminded me of lipton's raspberry ice tea!
